Hi....new baby beardie

Hi all

This is my second beardie. My bf and I actually have an adult (he is probably about 2 years old now). I helped pick out Harry (adult) when my bf was replacing another beardie that had died...Mr. Cricket was about 6 or 7 years old. But I fell in love with Harry (the last Harry Potter book was due out when we got him....which is how he got his name ) and of course then I decided I wanted a baby....so got him/her on this past sunday at the Westchester reptile show. So I have been obsessed with him all week....pathetic I know!! So far I think he is doing fine...doesn't eat all that much from what I can tell....maybe 7 or 8 crickets a day...and maybe pics at his salad. I am hoping that he is just getting used to his new home.

When I figure out how to ad a pic I will.

I haven't named the baby yet since I am not sure whether is a boy or girl....but seeing how I already have Harry....was thinking Weasly (as in Harry Potter's best friend Ron Weasly...and if it turns out to be a girl...then it could be Harry's girlfriend Ginny Weasly )

couple of cute bd's ....First time owner here and love my little guy...recently did the tail lift and found 2 bumps..his name is Yoda. Bd's have got be one of the coolest animals.

Both beardies are beautiful! I too have been wanting a baby and got one last month. Who can resist a baby? Thank you for sharing pics because I love to see them.

He does seem to be a big lazy beardie these days! And I used to think that he was on the thin side since he is Mr. Picky...until I got the baby...now he seems like a chunky monkey

Last night it was sort of late when I had him out...and he definitely likes to sleep at night!! When I first got Harry I used to think it was adorable how he would wiggle in the sand....sort of like trying to find the most comfy spot to sleep. Then there are times I let him out....and he won't stay put...he is jumping from the couch to a near by chair...or jumps to the floor and scrambles across floor. He is very funny!!

The baby so far likes to be held....every time I try to put him down he scrambles back into my hand. It will be fun to sort of see what his temperment and quirks will be. Harry was older when we got him...maybe like 6-8 months....so will be interesting to see how baby turns out. :wink:

I am pathetic!!! I have had beardies on the brain for days!! Actually probably longer cause I really do love Harry....but with 2 it has just intensified.

Just thought I would give you an update on Weasly

He is eating much better yesterday and today. Plus we got a shipment of smaller crickets and phoenix worms today and he has eaten some of both today...and accidently ate some greens cause the PW were moving his greens around and he went for it So I am excited that he seems to be settling in :love5:

When I got up this morning he had pretty much finished shedding and he was the beautiful color I saw when I picked him out! So that was a good way to start morning.

And his funny story for tonight....when I had turned out his light tonight he was standing in the corner sort of doing a "glass belly dance" and I figured he would just go up on his rock and sleep like he has every other night (with his head hanging over the edge...very cute!!)...but now when I just went to check on him....he was still standing in the corner but asleep!! :shock: So I picked him up and put him to bed :wink: Very funny to see!!!

Anytime I see Harry Potter names I just have to laugh. My last name is Potter by way of marraige. Far before I got married I got an adult cat that came with the name Harrison. I had never given it much thought, even after I was married and then one of the vets at my work started laughing when i introduced "Harry" to her.... "Hahahaha, so hello young Harry Potter!"

I have to admit that it annoyed me while I was pregnant and people always asked me if I was going to name my son Harry. :roll:

Either way, I love the names!

Weasly Update:

He has grown half an inch in a week He is eating more every day.....he seems to enjoy the PWs...and of course crix. He tends to like the bigger ones (my smalls have grown a bit). Doesn't really really eat much greens but I give him them in the morning....and try not to give him PWs or crix til midday or later...hoping he will pick at his salad. I usually give in by 11 or 12 pm though

Today my boys were very cute! Harry had been outside this afternoon and I was bringing him in...so I held him up to Weasly's cage....Weasly was staning in corner...so they kept licking the glass...first Weasly tried to lick Harry through glass...then Harry did it...this went of for a couple of times...very cute :love5: Course maybe Harry was thinking he would be a tastey little snack :shock:
