Hello my name is Paul and I have a 10yo cheerleader that wanted a bearded dragon. Because she is extremely well behaved, an excellent student and an exceptional child. I decided she can get one. Not knowing what we were getting ourselves into being our first animal other than a dog, fish and a rabbit, I prepared her for the worst because it was new to us. So we went to PetSmart and my cousin was working there. Low and behold there was "the one" the cutest beardie ever! After picking up a ten gallon started kit, some crickets, and all the proper lighting we walked ouch the door $300 lighter but with a new pet. She was about 6" long and is now about twice that maybe a little more. Uncertain of the sex we could not come up with a name at the moment so my daughter said we'll call her/it "BD" for short. Well 3 months later "BD" stuck and we still are questioning the sex. We're more towards the line of female. We have since then traded in our 10 gallon tank for a 50 gallon with a 36" UVB, 2 100 watt basking bulbs and one 100 watt red night light build. I haven't had the chance to change the carpet to sand just yet but I think I enjoy BD more than she does. I've researched a little here and had concerns at first of tail rot and etc. but luckily so far we have had the greatest experience with BD. I'm looking forward to seeing her grow and want another one!
