Hi from new beardie owner

Hi! My name is Evie, I just brought home a new beardie today. His name is Rambo. I am a first time bearded dragon owner and have a question. How long do I have to wait to hold or pick up my dragon? I'd appreciate some advice on this. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum

He needs time to acclimate and get used to his surroundings- the most important thing in the tank is his basking temps they need to be surface temps taken w a digital probe thermometer- the basking bulb needs to be a CLEAR bright white basking bulb that keeps temps 105-110 for a baby--- and a long tube fixture-- No coils - if you need help or recommendations for that please ask I will post links- those three things will help w/ his acclimation to his tank- his eating will be off w/ relocation stress- if he quits eating all together there is a issue

The basking side of my tank isn't getting up to the suggested 100degrees. Does that mean I need to get a new basking light?
