Hi Everyone,

My name is Bradley and I have been looking through this site A LOT!!! and I would really like to thank all of you for all of the information that you have all posted... it was funny how I came to get my Bd. My gf and I went to the flea market and she bought a bunny, after we went to petsmart and I fell in love with a Bd that a customer had. so I took a look at the ones that they had their but they were $59.99  but first I decided to get A LOT of feedback and do A LOT of research on them... when I went to buy all of the stuff the person at petsmart was saying that I was wrong and that I didn't need so many things for a bd I was like it says so online. lol! well after about a good 3weeks-1 month I finally got my Bd 2 days ago...

His name is Ace...

I had some questions still that I haven't found answers on, maybe you all can answer them for me...
I have the Basking light on one end of the tank and the UVB light on the other side, should they be together?
In the morning I have the timer set to go off at 5 and I feed him at 7 which I feed him about 10-15 crickets and he gobbles them up, other than that I have also fed him very small diced carrots and green peppers. today I got alfalfa and collard greens (which were pretty expensive) but I have no Idea how to give the collard greens to them, how can I?
I am scared that if I take him out of the viv and have him lying on my chest or something of the like he will try to run away. any suggestions on what to do about that?
I have seen many vivs on this website and A lot of them have hammocks, towels and other things so that the Bd can sleep or hang out in... is that suggested as Ace tends to just dig himself a bit into a corner in the viv and curl up when he goes to sleep?

Thanks ahead of time for answering any of my questions and Thanks again for all of the information.

Hi and welcome to the world of being ruled by a scaly beastie! Ace is handsome...you did good picking him out.

Hmmmm...I would think he would get better exposure to the UVB if they are at the same end of the tank. Then he is getting the benefit of that while he is basking.

How old is Ace? Younger dragons eat as much as their fat little tummies can hold in about a 10 minute period 2-3 times per day. They are eating machines. Pooping machines too!  As far as the kale, chop it up into little pieces. I buy my greens at the Walmart Super Center unless they are in season and I can get them from a farmer's market. They are often an acquired taste for beardies. www.beautifuldragons.com is a great resource for what beardies can eat and general beardie care.

I like to wrap Stella up in her blankie in the evening and cuddle with her. I do it around the time lights will be off and she usually falls asleep on me. Then I put her blanket and all into the viv. Little ones can be quick little scamps. The best thing I can say is be vigilant and try to stay one step ahead of him. You might want to keep a hand on him when you're holding him for now. Maybe target times of the day when he is a little slower; ie 1st thing in the morning when he's just waking up or bedtime.

As far as the "extras" in the cage it's up to you. Stella likes climbing on her rocks and I'm sure she'd give a hammock a try...I just don't have one. The sky is the limit. Her favorite way to sleep--she even eventually crawls out of the blanket to do it--is with her feet up on a wall stretching up. It's sooooo funny to see it when she is pressing her fat beardie belly up against the glass!!!!!

Enjoy Ace. He is going to grow like a weed and you'll love every minute of it.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
