No you would be buying just the bulb. You will need to buy a light fixture to hold it in too.

You can go the route for the super expensive fixtures that petstores sell for like 60 bucks, or you can go to walmart and pick up a T8 flourescent fixture for about 12 bucks. You can find the fluorescent fixtures in the lighting section, just find one that is the length you need, and make sure its for T8 sized bulbs. You can also pick them up at other home improvement stores such as home depot, lowes, etc.

Edit: OK I see your new post. While your at the petstore you should pick up some calcium dust and multivitamin dust if you don't have it already.

Other than what you have already said, I can't think of anything else you would need.

Hi and welcome to the forum fellow Canadian
You can get a fixture for the tube at a Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, or Rona's. Just make sure they are T8 fixtures. They are anywhere from $15 to $20 depending on where you go. I have yet to see them in Walmart but then again the Walmart I go to is always out of stock or doesn't carry it. :roll: I have a Zilla 40 gallon breeder tank and I use an 18" tube. BTW Petsmart has the tank on sale right now for $95.99 with a pet perks card. They are regularly $120. If you live in Mississauga there is a guy in Streetsville that sells Reptisun 10.0 tubes. LMK and I'll tell you where the store is. Though as Brandon says, its cheaper to order them on the net.

Thanks ! I just actually bought that one earlier today (40 gallon breeder) and it is all set up ! I'm at the other side in kingston unfortunately so that's a bit of a trip, i would probably be better of too just order it online express i would say! And really an 18 inch, if you say so that's best ill get it.

As for the fixture im sure once i actually get the bulb i wont have a problem finding one! really newbie question but do the fixtures supply the connectors and such to actually power the light tube or does the tube itself come with the power supplier....

This is what mine looks like. Mines made by Globe. If you go on the Home Hardware site and search you'll find them listed. The tube fits into the fixture. The fixture is what powers the tube. The light just comes by itself. If you get one take the clear plastic shield off and leave it off like mine in the second picture. I have to get command hooks now to put the fixture inside the 40 gal. tank. :roll: Just having a hard time finding them.
Note: This was taken before I hung the the fixture up inside the 20 gal long tank.
Yeap I know where Kingston is and agree it would be a long trip just for a light. :mrgreen: Just glad to help anyway I can.

Of course and thanks!!! I encountered a new problem lol petmountain does not ship to canada was about to buy the light and a few extra perks and I was completely shut down with the news that I cannot purchase because they on ship in the U.S

Are there any places that ship in Canada I want to order tonight so that it will be here by friday hlp plzzzzz !

See if www.mrherp.ca has the reptisun 10.0's . I haven't looked personally yet, but it's a chance!! :mrgreen:

Edit: They do have them but 1) they're closed till the 15th of February 2) they're out of stock .
Try www.petsmart.com. They are american and so are the prices. I think the 18 inch is $35 usd and they deliver internationally, so I hope that includes Canada. :mrgreen:
