Thank you and you may have to wait! :study:

I have the tiles set in loose but I feel that they will end up being a permanent fixture. Pulling out tiles, cleaning them off, putting them back in seems to be more disturbing to Chester and more work than just cleaning it out his mess and wiping down the surface. Then I spent about 3 hours looking through the viv thread....now I am putting together a design to make my own viv. :banghead: So, the tank he has now will be replaced within a month, hopefully, with a nice viv and his old tank will be turned into a gecko palace for my son's gecko at his mother's place. :D :blob5: :D

I just have to see if my friend can help me get into his grandpa's workshop and cut all the materials....

After Chester got a little cranky from me changing his substrate out he seems to like it more. He just splays out on his tile basking spot like a pancake! He finished his shedding and seems happier about that too. I tried my own connections but I can't deal with flakes when it comes to Chester so I am talking to a guy in Gresham, OR who sells some vivs. I gave him my custom measurements and changes from the original design they make so hopefully I can get a response by next saturday. I also have some e-mails out to local cabinet shops to see if they can produce something similar to the crossfire viv or at least point me into the right direction to someone who can/will. Maybe by my next paycheck...

Just keep in mind the smell has to be completely gone before using a new viv. Our new ones sat when they were finished for a month before we could use them. The stain and clear coat really does take awhile to stop stinking. Good luck with you viv.......its fun and frustrating to have such a project.

Thanks for the tip! I would surely air the viv out before he goes in. I would still have a few other things that I would need to install as well and then I would work on a cave for him. Probably similar to the one from the Goonies movie that looks like a skull. I might even try to make half of a pirate ship...still have yet to decide.

Viv is almost ready. The flake at the hydroponic store keeps forgetting to get my light I ordered. I have been dealing with the "2 days" and "tomorrow" response for about a week now. I should have it tomorrow. The tiles just had the grout applied and I am waiting for that to set. I may have to do a little touch up paint but by this weekend it will be move in and picture ready!!! Chester is just fat, lazy and happy. Looks like he went down for the night...

stay tuned for pics....

For those of you who are following this I recommend you jump over to:

"The Hard Knock Life of Chester Copperpot"

I posted pictures of his new viv/condo for your viewing pleasure...I'm just to lazy to repost it all here.

Hi there. Just wanted to say hi! It's always nice to meet a fellow Oregonian. Love the name you chose! How appropriate for Oregon... many people don't know that the Goonies was filmed on the Oregon coast... Astoria I believe. Anyways, welcome! Great looking dragon!

Goonies was filmed in Astoria! That little fishing port still has people travel to it that are huge fans of the Goonies just checking out the sites that are still around. Thanks for the compliments! Chester is indeed a handsome fellow and he's a fun companion. Some people say he is spoiled while I admit that he is indeed well appreciated! He recently moved into his new condo and seems very happy with the work I put into it...I still have one more addition to his viv that I am working on soon. I recently added some air plants to his hide to give it a more natural appeal.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
