Hey everyone, my name is Carlos and I just got my first beardie today right after work, he/she is a sandfire, i got it on ceramic tiles and i got a plenty of things for it to climb because i hear when they're babies they like to climb, I've decided to name it Chase (it's where i work, lol) i'm hoping it's a boy tho if not then i'll have to add a "y" to end of that name. I'm going to be posting up pictures and a video very soon, by the end of the night. Nice to meet everyone tho, i've been reading alot and i know i joined the right forum.

things to climb are good so he can get up to his basking light and uvb light but just make sure his cage is not too crouded b/c they do like alot of room to run around

hey just put some up, i'm going to put some more in a bit my camera is charging, the last pic where you see his back side is when my camera died but don't worry more are to come, also is that too cramped? does he need more space?

no it doesnt look too cramped it looks very nice

are the dial thermometers the only things you have measuring the temp?

if so you want to get a digital one with a probe they dial ones are very innacurate

also do you have a uvb bulb?
what brand is it?

Well on the cool side is where I have the dials (the stick-ons) and the digital one with the probe is right on his basking spot, it's at about 97F, is that good? I have a ZooMed MVB 100 watt, the person at the shop told me that with that my beardie should be good because it gives off heat and UVB that it will need, right?

yes the mvb is very good and it should be at least 12 inches away

but your temps need to be much higher for a baby

they should be around 110-115 degrees

The other lamp is his night light red bulb 60watts, the person at the store it was fine because they don't see the red in the light. What would be your advice to raise the heat on my beardies basking spot? Other than buying a higher watt bulb. Any suggestion would be really helpful.

you want to get rid of that red light for the night time. if ur temps dont go below 60 degrees then you dont need anything. but if they do look into buying a ceramic heat emitter.

as for the temps

are you sure your thermometer is accurate

i dont see how it could be that low when you have that bulb

i have a 100 watt mvb and at 12 inches the temp is 110

if you do indeed need more heat get a ceramic heat emitter or a regular basking bulb and put that next to the mvb
