My juvenile beardie has been doing great and growing by leaps and bounds, but suddenly, she hasn't pooped in 5 days. Her appetite is off slightly, but not much, and she continues to act normal. I've given her a couple of long soaks in warm water and massaged her sides/tummy, and last night, we gave her some olive oil on her crickets (which she seemed to really like, btw). Anyway, if nothing by later today, I think she should be seen. I haven't found a herp vet yet and was hoping someone might be able to point me to one around the Frederick - Rockville, MD corridor.

FYI, she eats crickets, normally around 30 twice a day and greens, usually collard. We were out of greens and gave a little shredded carrot come to think of it, a few days ago, but otherwise, she has had nothing else. She is on reptile carpet. Temps about 105-110 under a MegaRay MVB.

Crisis averted...

Of course as soon as I called a vet about bringing her in, she went. Hopefully she's was just whacked out a bit by the carrot meal. She seems to be very sensitive to any changes so I guess we need to just be careful not to "rock her boat". It took her close to two weeks when we first got her to settle in and start eating. Had us at wits end and on the verge of taking her back when she finally started.

At least I found a vet to take her too when we need it. I left it with them that we would see how she does over the next few days, but we should get her in for a fecal and routine check within the next month sometime anyway. Of course, that's likely to be fun, as she probably will be off for days after taking her on the trip.

Since you asked... digital probe thermometer. Dehydration doesn't seem to be likely, given how her stools look when she goes. Of course she never drinks from her water bowl, but I offer water routinely from a dropper and she has no interest in that either. It amazes me just how little water these "desert adapted" animals seem to need. I make sure her greens are real wet when I put them in and the crickets are always well watered with cricket gel and that seems to be all she wants.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
