Here we go again.

So i got 2 beardies in January. The male was thriving and the female was not. She had a mouth infection and tested positive for Entamoeba Invadens. I gave her panacur as per vets instructions and she has since thrives going from 36 grams to 230 in 2 months.
For the past few weeks I have noticed the male was not eating as much and although he was growing in length, he was skinny. I thought it was just him, different genetics etc. I decided to do a fecal anyway. This is what the fecal says: Found Oxyurid eggs. Isospora sp.oocysts, lodamoeba sp. cysts & trophozoites. Entamoeba hartmanni type cysts & trophozites. Unidentified small flagellates and Blastocystis hominis. Like WTF?

He has been given panacur and another med.

Any advise would greatly be appreciated.

Their enclosures need to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to make sure they don't get reinfected. One of the biggest problems people have with trying to get rid of parasites is not cleaning the cage and having reinfestation occur.

Ya, I have the vivs down to a minimum. No wood or plants etc.... I am going to disinfect the heck out of them today and do it weekly until this is over and done with.

So, 4 days on the meds and his poops look normal again. (not runny) He is eating less that he was, which was not a lot. So he is hardly eating. So i am worried. I have offered 3 different types of feeders today and he ate one super.
Not sure what more I can do at this stage. I am giving him baths every 3 days.

How long has he been off his food? I'd give him some baby food + calcium just to keep his weight up while he goes through this ordeal, are you giving a probiotic? The Panacur might be upsetting him tummy, if you don't have any in stock you could order some acidophiliz+ or even just give him some soy yogurt? Worth a shot!

Baby food was my plan for tomorrow. Any specific flavor you recommend?
When my other beardie had entameoba invadens the prescription called for 5 days on, 3 weeks off and a other 5 days on.
This time the panacur says one day, then 7 off then one more day. So he has only been on it for 1 day last week. I have another med I am giving him for 7 days. Don't remember the name.
This is crazy. His weight has not dropped but it's not going up either. He is 15" and 157 grams.
My female is 15" and 230 grams.

The other med might also be causing it. I would suggest strongly trying a pro-biotic. It's debated about how or if pro-biotics work but if there is even a slight chance it could help there is really no reason not too, you can get soy yogurt at any grocery store for a few bucks. 157 grams for a 15" dragon does sound too small, my 17 inch girl is 350g. Definitely get the baby food on the go but don't stop offering veggies and feeders, get whatever he'll take down in him(as long as he's still pooping regularly)!

With the baby food my kids love Chicken and Pea/vegetable kind and Butternut Squash, some people will suggest to mix the two but mine like them better separately. I microwave it for a few seconds, mix in some calcium and spoon feed it to them, you might need to use a syringe if your baby doesn't eat it willingly off a plate or spoon(I use a plastic baby spoon to protect their teeth).

Thanks so much Mellu. I am going to try what you have mentioned. I do not stock any probiotic products but I will check locally. I have done quite a bit of reading on them in the past and the jury is still out.

So my male is finally starting to thicken up. I hope this means the medication is working. He is on Toitrazuril for coccidia, panacur for pinworm and Metronidazole for something else. lol. Its been insane.
Now I learned something and please tell me if this is good or not. He is not eating much so when I saw him gaping I put a cricket in his mouth. He just chewed it up and swallowed it.. lol
I did this with about 10 crickets. Wish I had of figured this out sooner.

Haha, that is perfectly fine!! My babies have never had trouble eating their greens, in fact they are salad monsters, even the baby but a lot of people trick their beardies into eating greens like that! Yay for him putting on weight!!!
