I'm new to this website and bearded dragons. I'm getting a baby bearded dragon In a couple of weeks and I was wondering where and how big of a cage I need and where and what kind of lights do I need. I've also been doing research but they were all different. Also can I use just regular sunlight instead?

I highly recomend a 4'x2'x2' or larger enclosure for an adult - many older babies can do fine in this as well or it be reduced while they are small. They will use whatever space you give them.

I really like the T5 HO uvb lighting (I use reptisun 10.0) - it has better output so it more versitile for positioning.

If you have access to direct sunlight (no glass or windows in the way) it can provide UVB - however direct sunlight is a very real risk for dangerously overheating the enclosure and it is better for times when you can keep an eye on the dragon.

Thanks and do you know where to buy good lights and thermometers? And do I need a humidity gauge ?
I get most of my equipment on Amazon, there are a few online pet stores too.

Some digital thermometers come with a hygrometer built in. I like to use an IR temp gun for surfaces an a little weather station thermometer for ambient temps. You can get ones with probes as well.

I have a reptisun 10.0 and a sunblaster fixture, both from Amazon. Lightyourreptiles.com sells kits with arcadia 12% bulbs that are great also.

That should be fine, I have one like it for around the house/travel. Just make sure not to go over the wattage rating.

What is the highest wattage and what is the lowest wattage?
The socket area should have something either printed, embossed or as a sticker that says what the maximum wattage it is rated for is.

Thanks do you think 150 wattage is okay for a basking lamp?
Should be more than enough if you mean the fixture
For the bulb I'd get a couple (75, 100, 150W maybe) and see what works best to get the right temps.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
