HELP WITH SUPPLIES!!!

ive heard that you can buy all the lighting and stuff you need for your beardies at a way cheaper price from your local hardware store im jus wondering what typr of bulb should i use that i can buy there for my beardies basking light and are the fluorescent lights that say daylight on them uvb i need some help cause i dont get what all this flourescent incandescent halogen crap all means lol and i dont wanna end up getting the wrong things for him so any help would be awesome thanx

To shed some light on the subject: I use a 'florescent' UVB bulb. I use the Reptisun 10.0 Do NOT use the reptiglo bulb. To get UVB for you dragon you will have to use either a florescent type bulb or a mercury vapor bulb. As for a basking light anything that puts out a good amount of light and heat will work. A regular household light bulb would work for that. I use normal spot light type bulbs that can be found at walmart. The brighter and whiter the light the better...I am pretty sure.

You can buy all the FIXTURES at the hardware store.
You will have to buy the BULBS at a pet store or online (petmountain.com has the reptisun 10)

does flourescent mean uvb or can a light bulb be flourescent and not put off uvb rays wow i feel like such an *****

There are two types of UVB. Tube=good ! Bulb=bad ! You are alright, we all started somewhere
You most likely will want a house hold flood light for basking-12" away, UVB tube-4-8" away, and depending on your set up, a second shop flor tube for extra lighting.
