Help with setup

I have got almost everything i need from a friend who use to have a bearded dragon. im just wonderin bout the set up. i havent got the dragon yet i want to make sure i no all i can and understand it. i have read a bunch of info and i have one question. i was told that the hiding log i have is suppost to be in the hot side for basking one but i thought the hiding log was for just that hiding. and i just wanted to make sure im doing this right i plan on gettin a rock to put on the basking side just let me no

You can throw in several logs or pieces of corkbark. They are very good climbers and I think that people in general have to little stuff for them to climb on (probably because many of them uses to small enclosures).

A lizard should be able to hide on both the hot and the cold side and preferably in the middle too. That's because they should be able to hide and control they body temperature at the same time. Bearded dragons don't seem to hide that much though, at least not compared to many other lizards. But I think they should have that option.

well i have a 55 gallon tank for now and i plan on building a tank after he gets a lil bigger i cant wait to get him thou its goin to be awesome. thanks for the help

My tank does have 2 hiding places, on the basking spot he has 2 corkscrew hangout spots that connect front and back and he can go underneath, or on the cold side in a cave I made, but really, I notice that beardie's barely hide, and if they need to cool down, they won't run to a hiding spot, they will just move further from the light.. Just my opinion

The only time mine hides is when he is being lazy and wants to take a nap.

I want to change my setup but would love to see others tank picture. Pictures are welcome, please!!!! I have a 36x18x18, and definetly need suggestions from the basking light wattage/distance, the UV wattage/distance, and the basking area!
