i need a definite step by step tutorial on what to do with the eggs! i've read a bunch of them but none seem to clearly state how to provide everything. I need to know about a container, substrate and heat most importantly. I hear Vermiculite is the best to use. This is my first time dealing with eggs and she is in with a male so they might be fertilized. They look really healthy, big white and plump. I also need to know if i should separate the male, as she still is laying eggs.
I feel so bad for her, looks painful :S wish i could do more to help her lay.

Hi Ally....there is a tutorial here in the breeding section, right at the top of the page. And yes you should keep the male away from her now, do do right away, and keep him away from her at LEAST for a week or more so she can eat + recupe. Ideally they should be kept apart, as she can lay multiple clutches from one mating. Although egg laying is not painful, it takes A LOT out of them....imagine her body developing 18 -30 or more eggs [ average clutches ] in just 3 weeks. That takes a huge amount of good food and nutrition. Most girls are thirsty after egg laying, so be sure to hydrate her right away. Some will eat the same day, others won't until the next day. Let her eat all she wants, but not too late in the day, otherwise she may not digest it all. I hope everything goes smoothly ! But yes, check the breeding forum for more info. :)

Will she be laying at night or will she sleep during that time? if she does lay, do i keep a heat light on so she doesnt get too cold?

It's very unlikely that she'll still be laying by tonight. It usually takes 1-2 hours, then they [ usually ] spend about 10-20 minutes covering them up. It's amazing to watch, they even use their chin to tamp down the soil to disguise the nest site. :) So she should be done within the hour.

Its been about 4 hours now and shes laid 3.. i heard that they can take a while to lay sometimes someone said it could take a few days. if it does start taking long do i turn off the lights? She wasnt happy with her lay box and has laid them around the terrarium. she does have more because she has contracted a few times since the last egg

Oh, I thought she was in a lay box. Did you consult the info in the breeding section here that I mentioned ? And if she is in the tank with the male, take him somewhere else so she is not so stressed by his presence.

I should clarify that for a normal healthy female it does average 1-2 hours to lay. Sometimes they will drop eggs as they are looking for a laying area if they don't find one that they feel is suitable. At times they will also drop a few the next day after laying a clutch. How old + what size is she, is she very young + small ? Can you post pics Ally ? Even small dragons can lay 15 or more eggs in a clutch.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
