Help - Three year old bearded dragon

We have inherited a three year old bearded dragon who doesn't seem to like any vegetables nor does he like the ready made pellets. Seems to eat about four / five morio worms every four or five days. Isn't very active. Temperature is around 32C under the basking light. Doesn't seem to like water. Has a new UVlight. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. In a vivarium thirty inches wide, fifteen inches deep and eighteen inches tall.

Poor Beardie! First of all I would not feed him/her morio worms as they can cause serious problems for their health. Feed him/her crickets, roaches or other soft bodies insects. Try putting calci worms or insects in the greens, such as bik choy or kale. This might encourage your beardie to eat the greens as well as the staple foods. Give your beardie a bath and.splash the water to encourage him/her to drink. And ensure you offer your Beardie live food and fresh food every day due to their lack of appetite.

How is his weight? You may be able to withhold bugs until he digs into a nice big salad. As an adult, veges should be the primary component of their diet. How far away from the basking area is your UVB light and what kind is it? I'd try to boost the basking area temperature up to around 40C with some cooler areas around it and a gradient to the cool side at about 25C. Proper temperature gradients and UVB exposure will have a big effect on appetite and overall health.
