Spock has had diarrhea for 2 days, my vet can't see him until Monday, and they won't do a fecal cytology until the vet sees him. Is there anything I can do over the weekend to try and help? The poo is very runny, not formed other than the white urates. You can see undigested roaches and greens in it.

Here's the run down on him. (well we think it's a him)
We got him in May, so he's about 8-9 months old or so.

Typical activity, not acting lethargic or anything. We just weighed him on the 9th and he was 105gm (12 inches long), weighed him today and he's 115gms so he's not losing weight (which I wouldn't expect just yet since it's only been a couple days)

He's in a 40G breeder, with a 24" UVB reptisun 10.0 tube (mounted inside the tank) the bulb was purchased about a month ago.
He has a 150 heat bulb hanging above the tank and temps on the basking spot read between 95 and 112º (taken with a temp gun). The cool side probe thermometer reads 77º
His substrate is normally tiles, but we have paper towel in there now to make clean up easier.

His diet consists of a salad of mustard/collard greens with some type of squash each morning (of which he's eating a lot more than he used to but not tons. Maybe a couple table spoons worth tops) His protein source is dubia roaches (we still have the small size so they are all under 1/2") He usually eats 60-100 per feeding of 15 minutes and we offer 2 of those feedings a day. One roach feeding a day is dusted on M-T-Th-Fr-Sa with rep-cal calcium with D3 and then on Su and Wed we dust with rep-cal herptivite multivitamin.

Lastly he gets a bath every other day for 20 minutes at least, we try to get one in every day though.

I wouldn't say a vet visit is in order.

Lots and lots of things can cause runny poos. Runny poos aren't anything at all to be worried about unless they are consistent for over a week.

We all have off days, even beardies.

I do want to comment about your temperature though. 95-112 is a huge discrepancy. Is this the temperature readings from one spot? Your temps shouldn't be fluctuating that much.

Brandon,
Thanks for the response.
The temps were actually for the warm side from the floor all the way to the rock/log he sits up on. So that's for basically from where the cool zone ends to the very top of his basking spot. The area he lays in to bask was usually 108-112 for that area. Our beardy likes to be up high so in his tank his basking spot is about 4-5 inches from the very top of the screen.

My daughter and I went out today to get him more of a rock instead of a tree branch type thing (which he seems to like) and that is about a 12" long by 9" wide flat spot now which is staying around 106-108º. He seems to like the large flat area more than his tree.
While we were out my husband said that he pooped again and it was more formed with just a little liquid to it. So hopefully this was just a little blip that he'll get over soon. I will most likely still take him in on Monday just to cover our bases.

Again, I really appreciate you responding.

Hi there,

OK that's good news. And thanks for the clarification.

The basking temp of 106-108 thanks to the new rock is great too.

Well we took Spock to the vet and although it seemed his bacteria was off (they gave him a shot of what I believe is doxycyline) his parasite screen came back negative. We are still having pretty loose poops here. There are no undigested roaches anymore, but it looks like it's mostly water and not fully digested greens. He gets no lettuce, only collard greens with some butternut squash and either mustard, turnip, or dandelion greens (depending on what the store has) He's still very active, and eating very well. We moved him to medium roaches so between 3/4" and 1" he typically eats 7-12 at a feeding twice a day.

Any suggestions on what we can try. I'll try to get a picture of the poo if I can. I wanted to this morning but my husband cleaned it up before I could take a pic.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
