Hi, I have a family member that has two bearded dragons, one female and one male. The female has always been much bigger than the male. They are about a year old and have lived together forever, but this morning they got into a fight. The female ended up having her leg malled and it looks to be irreparable and has bite marks up her body. I was curious if you could give me some insight on how to help her with the leg and bite marks and what to do with them.

I am so sorry this happened, though it was to be expected. I would get the injured dragon to a reputable reptile vet (since the damage is reported as severe) and put the dragons in separate enclosures immediately. If necessary, a plastic tub will work temporarily. Leave the female in her current housing. Please let us know how she is doing.

We have contacted a local breeder that we know and they have this has happened because they weren't getting enough protein and to keep them together for now. As of right now they are going to try and keep in happy and comfortable, but they have been told he is pretty much 100% going to lose his leg.. Sadly... If you know of any online places you can have worms shipped to you, it would be helpful.. Thank you xx

Separate the dragons. Once hormones start to hit, they cannot be housed together.

There are MANY online feeder retailers. Google for the feeder you want and you will find a place. I would recommend one, but I'm in Canada so you have better options.

The female needs to be seen by a vet. When you choose to own an animal, you are agreeing to take responsibility for it. That means getting it proper medical care when needed.

Hi. I'm sorry this happened. Beardies should never be housed together. They are territorial and only get together in the wild to mate. More than likely he was bullying her for a very long time. You or the owner may not have noticed. If 2 are housed together one will always be bigger then the other do to dominance. Please separate ASAP before she ends up dead.

That breeder is a *****. Dragons don't fight due to a lack of protein, they fight because they are forced to live together.
Your dragon is in pain & is suffering. If you can't care for them properly, you shouldn't own them.

This isn't my beardie or I would have both of them at the vet in a heart beat. These are a friends bearded dragon that they asked me to try and find some info about. I should be going to their house soon and most likely convincing them to separate the animals and take one to the vet

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
