So my beardie Jaffa is 5months old.. for the past 3 weeks she's been extremely lathargic, not basking at all and hiding in the corners of her viv.. now for the past 3 days she's buried herself under one of the rocks and hasn't eaten or anything.. It sounds like brumation but I thought that only happened in adult beardies? Someone help or reassure me i'm worrying over nothing? lol

What type of substrate? Is she using the bathroom regularly? How are her stools? Loose/runny at all?
Does she get baths? Does she drink water from her bath?
What does she usually eat, and how much?

she's on baked playsand (i know i need to change this) gets a bath once a week, she doesn't seem to drink at all, i mist the tank in the mornings and she sometimes licks it off the rock, but i've never witnessed her actually lapping at any water even from her water bowl.
She hasn't had a poo for the past 2 days since not eating, but previously they were fine..

oh and she eats crickets and veg, recently she's been very fond of her greens and not so much the crickets.. but normally she will eat about 20 crickets twice a day and greens inbetween..

Yes, the sand needs to go.
She's not in the middle of a shed is she?
I hope she's not impacted....see if you can try a nice long bath and massage her tummy.
Have you ever had a fecal done on her?
How old is her UV?

Any one else have any ideas?

the UV is only 3months old..
and no I havent had that done, reptile vets are hard to find and very expensive here, I was thinking maybe taking her back to the breeder to see if he can shed light on the matter as she's my baby and i dont want her to be poorly :(
am i right in saying this isn't brumation? I also just read about parasites, what are the tell tale signs of this?
I will try the bath and tummy massage, thankyou :)

and she literally just finished shedding before she started acting like this..
I had her out the tank earlier and put her on the sofa, she actually climbed onto me for a cuddle, which is unlike her, think she's trying to tell me something!

Hello,

How is your little one doing tonight?
I don't think at 5 months she would be brumating. It sounds like she could have parasites though. Can you get a fecal done on her?
Brumation phases are normal & they don't lose weight during this time, or very little.
Are you using a bright white light alongside of the Reptisun 10 tube? How far away is the tube bulb from her?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
