First of all, I'm sorry for the double post, but I need this to be seen by someone who can help me!!

Is there anyone in or near Connecticut with power and an empty dragon set-up that can temporarily keep my dragon??? We were hit with a major snow storm that knocked out our power and it won't be back until Monday! I've been staying with a friend and the dragon (and my snake but she should be okay) is here but I couldn't bring his whole 75 gallon tank with me! He's been in a 10 gallon tank since Saturday with no lights, no heat. I've been bathing him in warm water daily and trying my best to keep him warm and comfortable. I thought it would only be a couple days though and that he'd be fine. Now that it's going to be more than a week I'm really scared I'm going to lose him. I'm almost in tears writing this. Please, someone help me!!

Also, I have no car. My husband is on the road with our Jeep. You'd need to pick him up. Begging for help! I'll do anything!!

I am in PA, bumping this up! (I also added more to your title)

I am reaching here, but do you have one of those hand warmers? The kind you open or punch? You can use one of them wrapped in a small towel. You can also snuggle with him and keep on you with a shirt on top or wrap him up. When our power was out for 3 days I did this with Digger, he was 2 years old at the time.

Is there power where you are at? You said you are staying at a friends, maybe you can use a housebulb that can shine on him? Rig something up that way? I think he will be ok without the UVB till then.

Hope someone gets to you ASAP!

Yes, thank you! I've been using handwarmers and holding him when possible but I also have two small children (ages 4 and 6 months) so I can't hold him for too long. I'm running out of options. His bulbs are portable and there isn't much to work with here. I'm trying but I really need someone to help!

Also try hot water bottles, even empty soda bottles filled with hot water wrapped in a cloth or towel can supply heat

I'm in England and use a hot water bottle, wrapped, when taking my Beardie to the vet.
I have a plastic tub with a lid and put the hot water bottle in the bottom - only filled a little, so it is practically flat.
Putting a fleece throw over the container also helps to prevent the cold getting in and warmth getting out.
Don't know if this is suitable - but would a power torch be okay to provide temporary light -
not shining directly onto the dragon?

Fingers crossed power is soon restored and life is back to normal for you!

Thank you!! I filled a bottle with hot water and it's in there now with a blanket. It's something.

Also, if I don't find a Beardie-sitter, what signs of illness should I watch for once he is home and in his proper enclosure again??

Hello,

I am sorry to hear about the power outtage.
The hot water bottles, and the hand warmers are really the only things you can do right now until the power comes back on.
Does anyone have a generator you could run for a few hours per day to be able to use a basking bulb for him for short periods?
Just watch for respiratory issues developing from him getting too cold with too humid of conditions.

I hope you are able to keep him warm.
Let us know how things are going.

Hello,

How old is your dragon? Could you possibly put him into a short brumation type of state if you are not able to find someone to take him until your power is back on? Wrap him in a blanket & put him in a little box with hand warmers, or hot water bottles?
Could you get a gas generator by chance?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
