Help please - Smid is submissive in baths now

So last week I had to take Smid! into the vet to help him poop (he hadn't gone in over 2 weeks - and although he is eating less due to winter I thought this was too long). She had to use a probe to make it happen - a large pile I'm told... But now when I put him in for his bath he immediately starts arm waving with both arms - the water isn't too hot. If I put my hand in with him he tries to crawl up on my arm. He used to love bath time - is there anyway I can help him get over this fear? Thanks
