Help new beardie

So i just got a bearded dragon six days ago hes about 6 weeks old i have him in a 40 g tank a 150 w bulb for heat his basking area is about 110 degrees cool side is 85 humidity levels are fine has a reptisun 10 uvb bulb my issue is he always has stress marks i make sure to mist him an feed him he will only eat like 8 or 9 crickets a day also cannot get him to eat veggies im worried something is wrong any info would be great thank you!!

First they will go thru relocation stress --- so his eating may slow down but should not quit all together - next his basking temps should be 105-110 taken w/ a digital probe NO stick ons! they are inaccurate and only tell you ambient temps-- the 10 uvb bulb is a coil or a tube ? We need to get the lighting figured out and then work on feeding tips etc

Its a tube. He actually ate like 20 crickets today though so it mightve been just relocation stress..

Ok good- so tell me what the tube is brand and bulb so we can make sure you have it properly placed- distance matters-

Its a reptisun T8 20in hood an a reptisun 10.0 uvb 18 in bulb 15w i also have another uvb bulb light im using cause i have them ontop of the metal screen top until the heavy duty velcro i ordered comes in so i can install it inside

Ok you only need one UVB the T 8 --- needs to go inside the tank approx 8-10 inches from basking decor - so get your T 8 situated and then figure out your decor piece - its easier to move decor pieces than the T 8 fixture and take the plastic cover off the bulb part --- you want the bulb exposed if there is a cover over it ----------

Yes im just waiting for the velcro to ship its been delayed since the whole covid situation but it should be here the 7th it says. So i suppose ill update when i have that all taken care of thanks

You can always use long plastic zip ties and then cut them off when the velcro comes

The holes on the metal screen top are to small to do that :/

ok you can always cut them or use fishing line -- picture wire hanger-- or potted plant wire hanger - shoe laces --- if not you can wait too - just some suggestions

So i installed it inside the tank but i had to do it on the opposite side from where i had it at first now he is running around an wall surfing...is this normal since i had to switch it around?

The decor piece is 8-10 inches from the UVB? He should settle down I don't think the UVB has anything to do w/ him running around- can you post pics of the tank and his basking temps are 105-110? How many crickets is he eating now?

How many did you put in there? Do not leave them in the tank they bite! Are you feeding salads? I went back thru the posts and I am not finding any post about feeding! What are you feeding him? I have websites and would recommend you get him over on dubias--- they are a better staple feeder plus he needs salads greens everyday- I am gonna post some info for you
