Help! My beardie’s eye looks swollen!

So, my beardie has been shedding around his beard, neck, and head, when I saw that one of his eyes looks swollen. I saw it this morning and it has not gone away. Is this from shedding and will go away on its own? Is it an infection? He doesn’t have loose substrate? I have human eye drop antibiotics or just normal human eye drops, should I use this? There’s no crust or discharge. The first pic is his normal eye, the second is his swollen, and the third is a view from above. I’m going to be shadowing a vets office this Friday, should I wait until then and ask them for advice? Help

Hello,

The eye ball itself does not look infected or crusted. It does look a bit swollen from the top
view which could be due to shedding yes. Was he bulging his eye at that time, or not, it is
hard to tell.
Is he about done with shedding?
I would get some sterile saline solution instead of using any antibiotic eye drops, for the moment
case there isn't any infection going on. Does it seem to be bothering him any?

I thought he was just normal shedding eye puffing at first, but it has been like this all day for 6 hours now. It doesn’t seem to be hurting or itching, his activity and appetite levels are just perfect. At times he closes just that eye for a time but opens it back up after a few seconds. So how much of the saline should I drop in his eye? Should I dilute it? How many times? The shedding on his beard is currently flaking off and the area on his head and neck are super cloudy and should be coming off soon.

If it's shed related, you may not need to take any action at all. The sheds usually complete on their own and then his eye should go back to normal. If you're using plain saline to rinse crusty areas or try to loosen shed stuck around the edge of the eye there isn't really a limit to what you use (it's just salt water). I used to fill a curved plastic syringe and gently (you can build up a lot of power with these) spray the area as needed.
