Help me settle a small debate (rug vs sand)

My beardie currently has his viv entirely covered with the popular artificial reptile carpeting. I read that sand was more harmful so I stopped using it. My boyfriend think's he misses the sand and that we should put more calcium sand in the enclosure than the rug. I really need opinions on what works best for everyone and I love to see pictures too!! Thanks so much : D

Noooooope, you win this debate! Calcium sand is terrible and an cause impaction and sometimes worse. Definitely keep the carpet

Yes, you are correct. Calci-sand basically turns to concrete in a dragons intestinal tract. It is by far the worst thing you can possibley use! It can cause paralysis and/or death. Your dragon doesn't miss it at all. Do some more research before going back to it and causing harm to your little scaley friend. Yes loose substrates look cool to you but, cool doesn't mean good.
