Some may have seen the story of our bearded dragon, Rango. He has been doing great until yesterday. He became somewhat lethargic, looks pale, and has had what I believe is diarrhea. He perks up when we take him outside, but otherwise he just wants to sleep and obviously looks sick. Tonight he is very pale and his beard is black and has been all day. Anyone have any ideas? He was in the wild for 15 months eating God knows what, so I am not sure if his system is just in shock or what. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any chance he could be vitamin deficient? Or could have picked up parasites? It may be time for a vet visit so they could do some blood work.

Not sure if you read my post from the other day. We have had this beardie for almost six years. Fifteen months ago, he got out and ran away. We thought he was gone forever. He was very large and very healthy at the time he got out. Well, someone in our very small town found him in their backyard last week. So, I am not sure what he has been eating for 15 months and I know he is so very stressed out. His color is normally burnt orange and right now it is very pale with a solid black beard. We do not have a reptile vet on the weekend. I just don't know what to do. He is having foul stool, but I read that stress can also cause the foul stool. I am just freaking out here as we just got him back and I can't stand the thought of losing him again!!!!

He could have parasites due to his foray out into the wilderness. Is his poo stinky?

How is the UV in your tank? Has the bulb been replaced since his emergence?

Yes, it stinks. It has never stunk before. His UV light is right, I don't know the specifics and my husband is at a meeting he is the technical one, we have never had a problem with lighting in the past. Do you think stress could make him this sick?

I would get him checked for parasites. Stinky poo is a sign. It would make sense as you don't know what he had to do to survive.

Hows Rango doing today? Is he making any improvement? Have you been able to get a vet's appt? I know it may sound silly, but I'm pulling for your little dude, and am really hoping everything turns out ok.

He seemed like he was a little better on Sunday morning. While my family was at church he passed away. My oldest daughter, she is 14, was the first to find him. It was very tragic for my entire family. I am a nurse and work in the ER, so after I got off on Sunday evening, we buried sweet Rango. He had been missing for 15 months, I have a different post about that, so it is hard to tell exactly what happened. The only positive we took from the situation is that we had been searching for him for a long time not really knowing if he was dead or alive. At least now I know he came back home to see us one more time before he said goodbye.

Poor little guy, I was sure rooting for him. At least he made it home and spent some time with you before he passed. Such a sad thing.

That sounds bad, gt him to the vet and have them check him out, make sure he's hydrated and fed right, poor guy, ? Hope you figure it out, and hope he gets better,

Oops, I'm so sorry to hear that.....(I didn't read part of the discussion so I didn't know what actually happened, lol) it's is sad to see something like that, ? I hope that my beardy stays healthy. our beardies, I think we can all agree that the become like family,

I'm so sorry. I had read the post where he had been missing for so long, and you found him again. I was hoping for a happy ending where he would have many more years with you once he tamed down again. You and yours have really been on a rollercoaster ride with all this, just to have it end that way is heartbreaking. At least you got to see him again before he passed. You and little Rango are in our thoughts.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
