Help me diagnose a cyst/abscess/tumor in eye socket [w/ pics

"Big Daddy" had what I thought was a slight eye infection a few months ago when I noticed his eye was weeping (but not enlarged).

Then slowly over the course of a few weeks a lump started growing inside the eye socket towards the front of his head. It's now been like shown in the pics for a couple months.

His behavior hasn't changed. He still eats and poops just fine.

He's quite old as well, could this be something common to old beardies on their last legs?

You'll notice whatever it is is pushing his eyeball/iris towards the back of his head.

Any ideas what it may be?

Poor thing, that eye looks rough.
You say he is old, how old is he?
What type of uv light do you have? Some have been known to cause problems.

He's nearly 10 years old..

I currently have a light from ReptileUV.com.

However, for the past year he was under the care of my uncle who had him under a regular incandescent (my old reptileuv burned out and he didn't know he needed a special bulb, we were away overseas). The bulb my uncle was using wasn't putting out any heat either. So for nearly a year he was too cold with the wrong bulb.

He seems to be fine now though, his eye doesn't stop his eating.

I am wondering if beardies can get cataracts? Because that's what it looks like to me, and with his older age...maybe that's what it is. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will pop in here and check it out.
