If you have only just got him, it may be relocation stress. If he is ok and not too skittish when you get him out, put him in some luke warm water, just up to his arm pits. Let him soak for up to 20 min. This helps keep him hydrated and the warm water usually helps a poo along!

Is he still eating??

If you are using newspaper idont think it will be impaction, he will probably go poo when he has settled.

I would just try giving a nice bath, and rub his little belly, down the right hand side, from the arm pit to the vent (where the poo comes out of) And see if this helps, if not one or two drops of olive oil should help. You can either drop it on his nose and he might lick it off, or dip a feeder into it, and give him the feeder. It acts as a laxative and should move things anolng.

I wouldnt worry too much, but can you just go over what your cage is like, What UVB are you using (specifically brand and is it a strip or coil?), how close can he get to it, what are his temps on the basking spot, the cool side, and the generally ambiant temps. All of these things are important to your dragons health.

Hello,

Don't worry quite yet! As the other poster mentioned it could be a bit of relocation stress.

You said he is eating. What are you feeding him? Are they the appropriate size feeders for your beardie? Their live feeders should be no bigger than the space between their eyes.

Have you been bathing him? How often are you bathing him?

How is he acting? Is he active?

What are you feeding your beardie and what size are the feeders?

Are you measuring your temps? If so, what are your temps on the basking side and on the cool side?

Are you using a digital thermometer w/probe, temp gun or stick on thermometer?

Ok temps are on of, if not the most impotant thing for your baby. Too low a temp and they cant digest their food properly, or too high and you could fry them!

Is there any way you can get hold of a thermometer, one with a probe or something from your local store, like a DIY store (sorry im from the UK so dont know the names of the chains, i think someone posted wallmart??)

I so understand you being worried. We are just trying to figure out what the cause of him not pooing is. It could be the stress or his basking temps not being hot enough to digest his food properly.

You said his feeders are the correct side, so I'm going to assume he is not impacted...but it is still a good idea to give him the baths daily if not twice a day until he poops.

What size is your enclosure, dimensions would be nice? The 50w bulb may not be hot enough if you have a big enclosure!

As most have mentioned relocation stress is most likely the culpret of your beardie not pooping for 3 days. In my experience the relocation stress doesn't always set in and begin to affect them untill about day 3. That seems to be about the time the stress gets high enough that they begin to not eat well or poop.

I didn't notice it mentioned anywhere and forgive me if you did, but what brand of UVB are you using?
The 50W sun glo is only a basking bulb not a source of UVB.

Hello Jason,

How is your little guy doing today? Please don't be worried he has not pooped. I'm sure he is fine....just give him some time to settle in.

You really should get yourself a Digital Thermometer with a wire and probe or an Infrared Heat Gun to measure his temps. Their temperatures play a crucial part in their well being!

Dawn :D

PS....As Barbara and the OP asked...... what Brand & Type UVB you are using?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
