HELP HELP HELP

I got a beardie from the pet store. The temp in there was at 70F and he was dark and I just had to get him! I have had him for 1 week and took him to the vet the other day who prescribed hm Baytril, 2 ml, once a day. We have been syringe feeding him and today he just is lifeless and extremely sleepy and will not open his mouth I have his enclosure at 100F. He refuses to eat on his own no matter what I offer so I am giving him baby food. How in the world do I get food into him? He is at 6 grams, very very little and the other day he was at 7 grams. I am scared and need some advice for my little man...

I would message Drache613 about that dosage and till you hear from her I would not give him that high an amount. For his weight that seems a little high to me. Are you sure it wasn't .02 mils?

I agree with Tonja, that seems very high for his small size. My adult is getting .15ml so I'd imagine a little guy like that would be getting a MUCH smaller dose. Closer to the .02 she mentioned. Did the vet mention why they wanted to put him on Baytril? Was he showing signs of an infection?

I would also syringe feed water to flush his system till you know the correct dosage for his weight. If you have been giving him 2 mls as per the vet, he may have a toxic dose in him so flush him. Baytril is harsh on their systems so get some soy yogurt to give him 2 hours after his dose to help replenish the gut flora that the baytril may have killed off. Be very careful giving him water if his is listless, put it to the side of his mouth so he doesn't aspirate water into his lungs.
