My poor girl has both Coccidia and Pinworms, I took her to the vet and he gave me liquid Panacur and Albon.

My girl is about 2 yrs old and only eats every few days, vet told me I could give the meds to her on a crick, but when she doesn't want to eat what am I suppossed to do?

She won't open her mouth for me at all, anyone know any tricks?
any suggestions on how I can get this medicine in her?

Hello, my beardie just finished taking his Albon and he is parasite free ! YEA !!, as far as getting the medicine in his mouth, that was very hard for me as well. I found that if you place the dropper on the side of their mouth and pry open a bit, they will sometimes open there mouth. There were times when mine WOULD NOT for the life of him open his mouth (it was awful!) I felt like I was hurting him. I eventually did the side mouth thing and it worked. Good luck!

Yeah that is my big thing I am worried about hurting her, my mom also suggested swaddling her like a baby so that if she does fight that I won't hurt her legs or anything by squeezing to hard to hold on.

I am gonna give it a try tonight!

When I had to force feed my dragon through an eyedropper my vet showed me how to open their mouth by taking the skin under its mouth and pulling it down, just like you would grab the skin under a humans chin and pull it down to open the mouth. I know it sounds mean but it is really the easiest way to do it.

I agree with above poster on the method of gently pulling down the skin between the lip and jaw. If your beardie likes to be wrapped, I would also try that. We gave Angie her meds just before bedtime when she is most relaxed. When we opened her mouth in the above way, just enough to squirt about a third of the meds in, we gently rubbed her throat and she would swallow. The other thing I not
iced was, if I am tense about it, she got tense, nervous and totally uncooperative...

Thanks for the advice!
A combination of wrapping her up, putting the syringe in the corrner of her mouth and pulling the skin under her chin, all worked.
Though I think I may have brusied her a bit when she pulled away, but I just checked and the dark spot is already getting smaller!

Good to know it worked and hope the meds work soon! I usually also feed mine a little treat afterward (something like a piece of mango or raspberry), just so they don't hate me as much...

In our household, hubby knows it is time for beardie treats when asked: "Do you want a mango/apple/banana/plum (insert most fruits here)? Would you mind if there is a slice or two missing?"

PS: In most instances (especially with kids and beardies), bribery (or flattery) will get you everywhere!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
