help! exo terra solar glo or powersun???

I'm tired of buying heat bulbs every few weeks!!! I'm planning on getting a MVB. Do any of you use the eco terra solar glo??? How is it?? What about the zoo meds powering??? Any thoughts?? I did a post about this a while ago and no one answered.... please! I really don't know which one to get!!!

What heat bulbs were you buying before? Are you sure it wasnt the fixture that was the issue, or the socket? I dont think that buying an MVB will actually help that much either way. They are a more finicky light than a halogen, so may just be a more expensive problem for you.

What size enclosure do you have? How much are you looking to spend?

Do you have a good UVB light? If so, you could try using a halogen flood light. They're cheaper and may last longer. They should get the job done for heat and bright light. I agree with jarich that if they're burning out that quickly the fixture may be an issue.

The fixture is new. I got it on November. He is in a 40 gallon tank, I use the zoo med basking bulb

Unfortunately the fact that its new doesnt mean that it isnt faulty. However, those reptile basking lamps can be quite easy to burn out too. I would recommend just getting a normal outdoor PAR 38 halogen flood light. They give off the same light, are more durable, and cost about a third of the cost. That is, if you already have a separate UVB light like Cooper mentioned.

They give off heat and bright white light. They are a good alternative to branded reptile basking bulbs. They don't give off UVB so you will need to have a good UVB light in addition to the flood light.

Ya, as Cooper said, they give off heat and light, just like the reptile ones. Although you dont get the pretty box.
