Help convincing some that beardies need UVB. HELP

I am trying to convince someone that this is not UVB. I need to convince him that only using UVA is not sufficient. http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/sun_glo_halogen.php
They said that someone working at petsmart has had there beardies on this light for 5 years and they are fine. So he wants to know well if hers are fine then why do I need UVB. I hate Petsmart.

It says right on it that it produces UVA and doesn't say anything about UVB.

Are you sure it isn't a solar glo bulb he is using? (I think it's called solar glo, that is a UVB light)

yes he just told me that that is what the woman told him she uses and that he should buy it.

All I can say is try to get him to look up metabolic bone disease. Maybe when he sees how painful and deadly it is, he will change his mind. Also that if he doesn't understand the needs of the animals he brings into his house, maybe he shouldn't have any.

They will be fine with just that light if you bring them outside in the sunlight for at leat 3 hours every day or two. The sad thing about mbd is some dragons are more suseptible to it and some aren't so its a longer, slower and probably more painful road for them. The problem with some people is ignorance and a lot of one way roads named after them. A human can live just their whole life eating junk food and sitting on the couch but their quality of life is compromised and its their choice. It's not fair to compromise an animals life who has no choice of who cares for them and who chooses not to educate themselves for the quality of their pets life. Just my opinion.
