HELP! Can I do this? I want to do it right!

A friend just gave me a 90 gallon tank for my beardies... I was wondering if i can lay it on its side and sit the lights on the glass? Will this cause a sun and magnifying glass reaction? I know it may be a stupid question to some but i really want to make sure it will be safe and they will still be getting the proper lighting. The tank is long and deep about 18 inches wide... So if I lay it on its side it will give a LOT of room for Jarvis and Velvet.

Glass will absorb most of the UVB light. Getting the basking temp. dialed in through glass may be tricky as well. Depending on what you use for the front of the viv. you might be able to mount the lights inside with adhesive hooks and snake the cords through.

No, you can't. It will not give the UVB they need, (and they shouldn't be housed together anyway), and it will create a hot box for them.

Thank you I will see if i can mount the lights inside... If I can get it together I will post a pic... I still have to build the table I am putting it on... Jarvis and Velvet have lived together for a long time... They have each always had their own slate over their own cave, their own veggie bowls, etc... Every dragon is different... They all have different personalities... Where I agree usually housing them together is not recommended... In some cases dragons have been known to live together in harmony...
