I am new to beardies and have heard that they can not live together. The pet store told me that they could so we bought 2. We have them separated in 2 20 gal viv's for now. I have the opportunity today to buy a 150 gal viv for a steal!! CAN THEY LIVE TOGETHER IN SUCH A HUGE ENCLOSURE?? That is my question. Would it have to be sectioned off? They are both babies right now, and would grow together.....not sure of the sexes, we were told girls but I have read that it is too young to tell for sure. Here are a couple of pics of my babies.
This is Dylila

I am leaving soon to look at the potential new viv......just need to know if I need one viv or 2.....there are 2 available if needed.

It is best to have them in their own enclosures. Beardies can be very territorial and it could end in dominance issues accompanied by fighting or worse.
Since they are small you could get the one 150 gallon tank and put a divider in the middle or you can go ahead and get both tanks(if afforded) and then they will have enclosures to move into when a bit older. I would get both if you can swing it. Then keep them in the 20 gallon tanks until they are bigger, then move them into the larger tanks.
Hope this helps! :D

No matter how big, or whatever else you do, even if you do everything right, when it comes to housing together, there's no guarantee that there won't be problems down the road.

You could put a divider down the middle, but it's not something I would recommend. I do it myself, it's a major pain. It takes a lot of work to set it up, and a lot of work to maintain. I'm switching soon.

yes, it helps......I was thinking on keeping them in the smaller tanks until they would naturally outgrow them and then move them to thier forever enclosures. This will give me plenty of time to make them perfect for my little girls! Thanks for the advice on buying 2, yes it is affordable.....hopefully I will like them both. I love this website! You guys and gals are AWESOME!

I will send pics of the new vivs when they arrive.

Here is viv #1, it will belong to little Dylila. Mind you, I haven't started to clean it yet. I have to do some research on here to see alternatives to bleach for disinfecting. It came with a huge piece of wood, too. It is one HUGE unit, it does not come apart exept for the top.

Why don't you want to use bleach to disinfect?
Anyways, if you can buy some Wipe Out by ZooMed, its a very effective disinfectant, and isn't as caustic as bleach. Spray on and let sit for 1-3 minutes, wipe off all the dirt and grime, then spray on again and let sit for 10 minutes. Wipe using a dry cloth, then let the enclosure air out for a couple hours. No need to rinse.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
