He may have some parasites. Its good you took him in. The vet will tell you what the findings are and what needs to be done. Parasites are not uncommon in reptiles, especially after being outside eating bugs. I wouldn't worry to much as the most is that he will be on meds to do away with the parasites if he has any at all.

How is Stellar doing, and how has he been eating ? Has his appetite picked up ? Is your vet a qualified reptile vet ? Hopefully Stellar is parasite free or has low levels that don't need meds. It may be that Stellar didn't eat anything at all while he was outside because of how cool the temps. were.....he may have just went straight to a hiding place because dragons generally don't eat when the temps. are that cool.

Thank you for the concern,

Stellars appetite has picked up, but he has jumped back a step when it comes to eating his veggies. He will only eat them if hand fed with calcium dusted on them. I will keep you guys in the loop.

I'm so sry to hear this... I agree with the suggestion of posting flyers and talking to your neighbors. Don't give up hope. BD's are tough reptiles that can live in the outback! This might be a stretch but, perhaps putting his enclosure/cage were he was last seen. Leave it there with the door open. My Gordy will run around the house and come back to his cage. I wish you the best of luck finding your friend.

Ok everyone! So the fecal results came back on saturday and I am sorry for the delayed post! Stellar has some type of worm and a common parasite. They are starting with the parasite because in order to get rid of the worm, they need to damage some white blood cells in which are needed to rid of the worm. Right now he is on antibiotics. He gets 0.1 ml of antibiotics every 10 days for 3 treatments. I will then send in another fecal and go from there. All of this information is what I remember from talking with Dr. Hardin on the phone... my memory is not the most reliable!

She ended up finding stellar so everything is fine. Except for the parasites in his poops.

Well, despite the parasites, you at least found him which I am happy to hear. I hope that things go well while getting rid of the parasite. Good Luck!

In 2013, I lost my bearded dragon outside for precisely 1 month (from April until May). The weather was very cold on the east coast of the United States at that time, and we had several weeks where frost was still present due to New England's unpredictable weather. I was sure that I had lost him for good. I even contacted a canine specialist who is certified in search and rescue in finding missing pets, and so is her springer spaniel. I paid her a lot of money to search for my bearded dragon for 3 days. As soon as I realized he was missing, I made 50 posters and posted it around my neighborhood. I gathered all the neighborhood kids to help me find my bearded dragon, and I said that I would give $500.00 USD to whoever found him. I live in the suburbs and behind my house is a huge wooded area so he could be everywhere. I had him sun basking in a dog crate while I was moving, turned my back for 2 minutes and went inside the house to get something, came out and he was gone!!! He must've turned side ways and escaped through the cracks of the bars. I had never been so scared in my life!!! Then one day on the first week of May, when the weather was really warm, he came darting out of no where when my mother was gardening, and she went upstairs to get me and told me to come down to get him before he disappeared. I ran downstairs so quickly and I swooped him up from the ground, gave him a big hug, and never let him go ever again! From that point onward, I was extremely cautious about letting him bask outside. I bought an ABO pet tent for him so that I could safely and securely have him bask outside without fear of him escaping. My bearded dragon is a Houdini and will try to escape whenever he's outside because there are so many distractions and exciting things outside. But this ABO pet tent is claw proof and escape proof if you get a twisty tie and secure the two zippers once you put your bearded dragon in there because my bearded dragon can climb up the tent and try to pull down the zipper!

WOW what a story!! SO GLAD IT HAS A HAPPY ENDING. I def want to get something like that for my beardie. I am so cautious when I take her outside esp since I don't have a harness / leash for her. She doens't dart too much (only when she knows i'm trying to bring her back inside) but I am so super parnoid of losing her.

I am SO GLAD you guys found your little guy! It's amazing how they can survive out there for so long. I'm sure after a couple weeks he'll be back to his normal self once all the worm/parasites are out. He had one hell of an adventure. Might want to get a harness/leash set JUST in case. I know i am super parnoid when I take my girl outside. I now live in an apartment/condo complex near the highway instead of the woods so i would be a wreck if she went missing!

Thank you everyone for your support! Stellar seems to be acting normal! He just had his 2nd dose of antibiotics yesterday and he is reacting really well! Has a huge appetite for superworms and crickets as well as collard greens and cucumber  We have made Stellar a large outside enclosure so he can run around and get all the lovely UVB from the sun. I can not even begin to explain his love for being outside! Now that it is getting warm he will spend hours out there!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
