HELP! Beardie is Vomiting Lethargic and won't eat!

I recently bought my first beardie ever. He is a small baby (I don't know exactly how old) but he is only about 6". I bought him about 4 days ago and brought him home to put him in his aquarium. At first I had sand then soon replaced it (w/in 36 hours) with repti-carpet after learning sand can cause impaction. His cage is only a 10 gallon but I'm getting a bigger one soon. His basking temps are about 100 degrees and ambient is around 80-90 (I know its a bit hot but I'm still working out some kinks). He has a log under which he can hide and fresh water every morning along with food (dandelion greens,mango,commercial diet pellets,crickets). He gets about 12 hours of light per day from 10am to 10pm and he is extremely lethargic and vomiting(only a small amount after retching just once this morning). He also hasn't eaten or defecated in two days and is shedding please HELP!!!

Hi. Sorry he/she is not well. Have you tried giver her a bath? Since she threw up she's probably dehydrated. Also how big are the feeders? What kind of uvb bulb do you have? How are you taking temps? Take out the water dish it can raise the humidity and cause respiratory infection. Also beardies don't usually drink from standing water.

Hi there, I'm sorry that your baby is sick ! There are a few things it could be....are the crickets that he ate smaller than the space between his eyes ? If not, they could cause impaction + vomiting. It's good that you got rid of the sand, that could also cause his problem. When you say you give water every morning, how do you do so ? Right now he'll be dehydrated, so give him a lukewarm shallow bath [ support him if he is weak ] for about 10 minutes and dribble water on his snout. You can also try some unsweetened applesauce or canned pumpkin if he doesn't poo in another day or so. By the way, what exact type + brand of lights are you using ? This can have an impact on his health as well. Hopefully he'll be feeling better in a day or so, and others will chime in to help here. EDIT..I see Destiny has already asked most of these Q's.

Hi thank you both for responding the crickets range from 2/8" to 1/2' though i try to get the smaller ones in there with him i generally do not leave them in there with him but since he hasn't been eating i left a tiny one in there in case he got hungry over night or while i was out.I do not have a uvb bulb yet the set up i bought at Petsmart said for "desert" but did not have one so i ordered one should be here Thursday it is going to be a Reptisun T8 18" 10.0. I did give him a bath today but it did not help much though when i misted him he did drink. in regards to temps i have a thermometer that is stuck to back of cage in/near basking area it reads up to 90 and it is hotter in the direct basking area though probably still no more than 100, like i said earlier i am trying to even out some of the light i haven't even gotten my Uvb bulb yet the two bulbs i have are a 50w day bulb above basking area and a 50w night bulb i have to have both on during day to get it above 80 in most places though. In regards to the water question until today i had just been giving it to him in a dish than i read a care sheet and I now mist him.
Hope I answered most of your questions and again sorry if I'm amateur this is my first reptile(Except for some Anoles i had when i was a kid which were mainly taken care of by parents).

O.K., the 1/2 inch crix will be a bit too large, so go for the 1/4 inch. If the pet store doesn't carry them, try another store or you can order online from a breeder like Ghann's. Or you can order Phoenix worms [ not mealworms ]It's great that the good bulbs are on the way ! And you don't need any night light, it can disrupt their sleep, and beardies need it cooler at night, around 75F. As long as it doesn't go below 65 you're baby will be fine. It's good that he drinks, but one little tip, use the spray bottle to just direct a small gentle stream on his nose , or you can even use an eyedropper or feeding syringe....that way the tank won't get too wet, but the water will be just on his nose to be licked off.

Yes thank you very much for advice ill look for some smaller crickets i only have night light in there for night heat it drops below 70 without it.Most of the symptoms i can attribute to things like the shedding/relocation but the vomit i don't think what the crickets I'm using rep cal juvenile food for him and the vomit was the color of the green pellets.

I just tried to give him a bath and he drank SOOOOOOOOOO muck he was literally trying to empty the tub lol i think he may have been dehydrated weird thing is he was bearding at me the entire time most of time when i take him out he is fine an and happy but the second his foot hit the water his beard was black and puffy.

They always need a lot of water after they vomit, that's great that he drank so well. He may not eat for a day or two, but be sure the bugs are smaller, and if you give him any pellets be sure to soak them so they are mushy + easy to digest.

Oh, ok that would explain him trying to dry out his tub however since i gave him his bath whenever i get near his terrarium he stares at me at his beard gets black and puffy im wondering if i angered him?

Ok so i have him eating/drinking but now he has diarrhea and im a little worried but his shedding is coming along nicely and his new coat is beautiful (bright orange and dark black)!!!
