Thank God, we found Ollie yesterday in the bookshelf. She is 1 year old and looks fantastic for being without food, water and sun or warmth for so long. I put her in her viv for a day and put food out but wanted her to de-stress in some warmth for a day. I just gave her a long warm bath this morning and she drank a little and put her under her lights. The problem is she has not eaten anything. should I be really encouraging her to eat? I know she loves silkies and I am going to order some, but in the meantime, I offer her normal mealworms and greens.
Please tell me anything I should be doing for a beardie that has been missing and not eaten for about a month.
I am shocked that she is so healthy.
Any suggestions will be so appreciated....

Oh my goodness, a WHOLE month, great that you found her. She must have been brumating. I would recommend frequent baths and oral fluids. I wouldn't give her any mealworms though due to their chitin shell. I would actually go slow & easy with the foods by using chicken or turkey baby food as well as some squash, mix a small amt of the meat with a larger portion of the squash and you can even add a pinch of calcium to it as well as a small amt of water to thin it. Heat it in the microwave for a few seconds then use a needleless syringe or plastic medicine dropper and put drops on her nose for her to lick off.

I would also gradually increase the temps, keep it at about 98 for a few days then put the temp up to what she preferred before.

Congratulations on finding her. :blob5: :blob8:

WOW! That is wonderful that you found Ollie :D
Keep us updated on how she does.
As Chellybeans mentioned.. the squash babyfood is fine to use.

I think you are right about the brumation. Even in her viv, she is getting in the cave or under the little heating pad and when I peak at her she is sleeping during the day. I am going to get her baby food. Is there a certain amount (i.e. 1 teaspoon) that I should make sure that she consumes? Or maybe just a couple of little licks a day is good????
Thanks,

Whatever she will eat is fine. Just as long as she is satisfied. Occasionally drop in some regular food or some tasty treats and see if that will bring her out of brumation.

It does sound like she is at least semi-brumating. After she eats, make sure she is basking at least an hour before hiding in the cave. It's also important for her to have a poop before totally going down if that's what she is planning on doing. Was she sound asleep when you found her on the book shelf? She must have been SO cold, poor thing.

Im glad you found your dragon :)

***** PLEASE IGNORE I HAVE JUST FOUND HER :) ******
I have the same issue, i have a female dragon and a male dragon, today i noticed my female was missing, she is only small (4 months old). I often leave the glass doors of my viv a little open for air flow when it is a warm day and it has been fine like that so far...

She has vanished and can only be in one of two rooms as all other doors were tightly shut, i left the room for around 15 mins and when i returned she was gone.. No windows or such were open for her to get out... I have searched the rooms high and low, taking beds and wardrobes out of rooms, checking through piles of washing and i just cannot find her i have searched everywere 3 times over and im now worried that i will never find her :( .. she has gone for a strole before but i found her behind my bin asleep but that was not the case this time.

I have setup a heat lamp in my room, and laid out a few bowls of lettuce in hope she will come out, but realy i have searched everywere and i do mean everywere even rooms its not possible for her to be in im just totaly lost and cannot relaxe knowing shes out there somwere...

Has anyone got any tips on how to draw her out from were ever she is?

Thanks for reading and your time i dont know if this was the correct place for this or just to make a new topic.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
