HELP! BEARDED DRAGON EYES CLOSED CONSTANTLY

hey guys, my adult male bearded dragon has had his eyes closed the past day, i bought him a new vivarium a week ago which had everything already set up but he has been sat really close to the uvb florescent tube, i am putting his eyes and lack of appetite down to this...i need advice and asap!! do i keep his light of for a few days and take the branch out?

what brand of uv is it, and how close can he get to it?

And I would turn the light off for a bit to give his eyes time to recover.

HE COULD GOT NEXT TO IT NEARLY, BUT I BOUGHT THE SET UP WITH A FEMALE THAT DID THE SAME AND SHE IS OK BUT SHE IS SMALLER THAN HIM>??

Definately look into the uv, but is there a chance he is getting ready to brumate? Our beardie has really started in the last few days. Here is an article:

Its most likely that his eyes got damaged from too much UVB. The reptigo is notorious for causing eye issues, turn it off until you can get a reptiSUN 10.0. He also shouldn't be able to get any closer then 6".

If the female has the same bulb, you should consider getting her a new one too.

hi guys it was nothing to do with what make bulb it was it was from him sitting next to it, which he shouldnt be anywhere near it. 2 days away from it and 1 day with the light of 2 baths and he is back to normal xxxx
