I just got a 4-6 month old bearderd dragon from the local petshop and he is handicaped he had 3 of his legs bitten off when was younger and I was wandering if i should give him a bath (he smells) but am concerned that it might irritate his hurt legs. They seem ok his back left is complelty gone and his back and front legs are crinkled up and black.

Hey!
Wow you are such a great person for taking him on as you did!! Could you post a picture of what he look like? You should really PM jscott, his beardie LG is just like yours. He has done a phenomenal job with his beardie, and his rescues. I don't think it would irritate his legs, if anything I would think that he would enjoy it since he would probably be able to have a little bit more mobility. But I wouldn't take my eyes off him for a second if I where you. Again, you should PM jscott for better information, he's a pretty awesome person and would have a lot more information.

Hello,

How wonderful of you to get that beardie. It sounds like he will have a good home now.

I am a little concerned about your new little guy though. You said his legs are black where they were bitten off, it sounds as if they are necrotic. The fact that he smells is a little concerning also.

You might want to PM either Tracie(drache613) or Vicky(vickson420), they will be able to help you.

Hello there,
What a poor little sweety.
I sympathise as my little boy is missing two legs himself.

Pictures at this stage would be great because the smell isnt good.
Is his skin shedding at all? Does it look dull or greyish? If so they can smell a little musty.
If the smell is coming from the stumps however this is a serious issue.
Are his stumps dark or blackish?
Have his stumps healed yet?
Have the scales formed over the stump? Or are they still scabbing?

Here is a picture of Ruben. As you can see the scales have wrapped around his stumps.
This is what fully healed missing legs should look like.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
