CooperDragon took the words right out of my mouth...ACTIVATED CHARCOAL! I would go get some immediately and give it to him immediately, it won't hurt him if he didn't eat any of the poison, and if he did eat some it will absorb the poison and possibly save his life. That's most likely what the emergency vet would do if you took him in with no signs or symptoms just as a precaution. I'd go do that right now, you can't mess around with this or "wait and see", not with poison.
IF HE SHOWS ANY SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS OF BEING SICK THEN HE NEEDS TO GO TO AN EMERGENCY VET AT ONCE! Again, you cannot "wait and see" with possible poisoning, the moment he shows any signs or symptoms of being sick you need to grab him and put him in the car and go! If he stops eating or
drinking, vomits at all, even a little tiny bit, has any diarrhea, stops moving around and becomes at all lethargic, his eyes become at all sunken, he has any twitching, shaking, or starts flipping and flopping around, starts licking things he wouldn't normally lick or has his tongue hanging out of his mouth, or any other actions or behavioral changes that you notice, you need to take him to the closest emergency vet! I hope you have a 24-hour emergency animal hospital nearby.
As I said, please go buy the activated charcoal immediately and give it to him. You can buy it at any drug store, but I actually (Ironically) just bought a jar at Walmart last week. They have it in with the bottles of vitamins and minerals, it's the brand with the yellow label. I was buying Milk Thistle for a beardie I just rescued last week and I just happened to see the bottle of activated charcoal while looking for the milk thistle, so I bought it just to have it on hand. It went right into my animal first aid kit (which is huge, lol) because I can give it to not only my Beardies if they eat something bad, but also my dogs, my parrots, or myself!!!
Do you know what the "Active Ingredients" in the ant poison you used are? It may be listed on the individual traps, but will definitely be listed on the box they came in. That might be helpful in assessing a treatment plan too, and it's definitely something you'll need to know if you do have to take him to a vet, it's very important that the vet knows exactly what he may have ingested...
