HELP ASAP!!! I HAVE TO LEAVE AUTUMN HOME ALONE.

Unfortunately, I might have to leave Autumn home alone for two weeks. I live in the south, and because of a job, I will be in New Hampshire for two weeks. We did a dry run today at the airport and bearded dragons are not aloud on the plane AT ALL. I will probably have to leave her at home with a timer for her heating light and some food, (and maybe some kind of leaves soaked in water?) Please help. All sugustions are welcome. How should I give her crickets/worms??? Please help ASAP. Thank you so much.

Sorry to hear this predicament ! Do you have a trusted friend that could come in at least twice a week ? Then you could just have pre-packaged [ plastic bags ] with a certain amount of greens. Also you could leave a can o crickets that any one who is squeamish could just put on gloves to deal with + dump some in Autumn's tank. Maybe a local pet store that could take her in for that time ?

In an emergency it could be done but you really would be best having someone check on her.

I do, but so far none are available. I will keep looking. I heard that someone left their beardie in PetSmart, and they sold the beardie instead of their own, so I don’t trust them. Thanks so much for your ideas. I will keep looking for people to visit. Thank you again!

Yeah I agree. It's definitely better if you can have someone stop in to clean up and refresh food. Maybe someone from the vet's office can stop by? I leave Darwin for extended periods sometimes and my friend and his daughter come over to check on him 2-3 times per week. I wouldn't bother with crickets but a bowl of BSFL might be good to leave along with a fresh salad. Prepping salad and putting it in a ziploc with a piece of paper towel in the fridge as mentioned is a good way to make it easier for the babysitter to handle meal time.

There's really nothing wrong with the can o crickets for a few feedings. The bsfl will be buzzing around the apartment if they're too mature.

lol yeah that's a good point about the BSFL. If the flies stayed in the tank they'd likely be gobbled up at some point but there's no guarantee they'd stay in there.

I think I may have found someone. They are thinking it over. I will know tonight if they can keep her. Thank y’all so much. I will order Soldier flies tonight, and if I have time, get some more crickets from PetSmart. Thanks again.

Good news! A great and trusted friend of mine had agreed to keep Autumn at her house, cage and all, while we are gone. Whew!
