Hey, I'm Necopha. I've had a dragon for about a year and a half now, and his name is Alduin (pardon the popular Skyrim name lol). I've had a few mistakes while raising him, but I'm still learning. The first half year with Alduin were fairly rough. He was super moody, hated being touched, and fell from a dresser. After that, interacting with him was a breeze, he loves licking my fingers, relaxes a lot when I rub his head (especially if Alduin puffs up), and follows me with his head occasionally.

Bonus pictures!

*Note: I am aware that sand isn't the best, but my parents are so dead-on with using the sand we have leftover before switching. I can't even tell them to look it up, it's irritating. I'm considering using tiles as a substrate, that or going back to reptile carpet. I'm open to all suggestions.

Have a nice day! :3

Cute little guy. He looks healthy. I'm glad to hear everything is going well now! I use tile as substrate and I like it a lot. It is really easy to clean.

Thank you! I've been meaning to weigh him, but he seems healthy by just looking. I was so afraid that when he took the fall that it'd traumatize him (it somewhat did), and hinder his health, but nothing major. What materials do you recommend for tiles? Marble, granite, etc.?

They're pretty tough little guys.
I use ceramic tiles. I recommend using something that has a little bit of grip to it, so nothing that is polished or coated (makes it hard to walk on). Just plain ceramic works well in my experience.

Most large hardware stores should have them. I got mine at Lowes. They were very cheap and they cut the tiles to size for me right at the store. I got a few sets so I can swap them out easily for cleaning.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
