Hello to all! We're here with Twitch

Hi everyone! We've learned a lot from this site already and just found it yesterday. We got Twitch on 12/1/08. Not quite sure how old Twitch is, was much bigger than babies we've seen. We're not sure if Twitch is a boy or girl... but based on gut feeling by what we've heard and read we call her 'she'. We're learning every day, as is she. So far we're soaking up much advice from all the threads here...ok now I need to learn how to post pics here! Try soon... Derrick, Aimee, Tela, Trey & Twitch :twisted:
any advice on posting pics? I am a newbie! Maybe I should have my 13-year old try...

ok, let's try this... The bottom 2 pics are of Twitch soon after we got her in December. The top 3 are more recent. She's sure grown fast! Check out the difference in size as she sits on top of her cactus!

As of 2 weeks ago, she was eating 30-35 crickets per day, waxworms and a little fruit. She didn't show much interest in veggies. Then she got ill, and didn't eat or poop for a week. She's a little skinnier now, but eating and pooping again as of yesterday. We made some changes based on advice we got from the 'Beardie ER' forum. For one, we've tried feeding mustard greens, and they quickly became her favorite food. This site is great! Now we just wish we knew for sure how old she is and if she's really a she. Once we know for sure he or she, we may get her a friend... :wink:

Here is an article (that I copied and pasted from the main site) that shows how to tell male from female. Hope it helps. I would also suggest not putting another dragon in with the one you have. Keep the 'friends' in seperate enclosures unless you are ready for breeding.

Thanks for the advice & link! We will look soon :shock: lol... just want her to be more comfortable with us handling her first. She comes out willingly but almost always starts wanting to run around and unfortunately we have 2 cats and don't want to give her too much freedom. We're planning on locking the cats in a bedroom later this week to allow her some roaming time. Maybe someday she'll want to cuddle... after I posted the pics, I was reading other threads and advice about not putting 2 beardies together so thanks for that heads-up too. :study: So much to learn. -a-
