Hello, all! New to the website and just wanted to say hi!
A boring bit about the hooman first, then then juicy bit about the new dragon joining through his hooman proxy.
I work at PetSmart, which is where I fell in love with all reptiles, especially beardies. I have a number of pets, and love each and every one of them! I am the proud servant of a cat (Autumn, female torti shorthair), four hermit crabs (Lucy, Ricky, Fred, and Ethel), and am in the process of upgrading from a 5.5g aquarium to a 55g aquarium, plus my beardie, Norbert.
I've had Norbert since late January 2018, and he's been very happy and healthy. I got the smallest, friendliest one in the habitat, and although he's definitely no longer small, he's still super friendly and outgoing. He loves meeting new people and going for walks. He likes visiting all sorts of places- he's a regular at the bank, my favorite coffee shop, and a few other local stores and other pet-friendly locales. He's probably my favorite out of all of my pets. He appears to be a Western Minor Bearded Dragon, and I'd estimate him to be between eight and nine inches in length from snout to tail-tip.
Norbert lives in a National Geographic Reptile Sanctuary, 40g with the front door, and uses ZooMed and All Living Things-brand lighting/heating fixtures. He has a ZooMed ceramic heat emitter for night (and with his basking bulb on very cold days), and ExoTerra basking and UVB bulbs. His favorite activities include climbing his rock wall (and using it for a little gravity assist when making a poop for me), harassing my cat, and begging for food. Speaking of food, he loves crickets, greens, and a tasty mealworm or six every now and then. He doesn't seem to like any sort of fruit or non-leafy vegetable. His absolute /favorite/ treat is a little mint leaf from my own plant. He is very tidy and poops in the same spot all the time, and never lets a single cricket go to waste. He is, of course, named after the Norwegian Ridgeback in Harry Potter. I am basically Hagrid, so it works out pretty well.
I hope to see all of you around very soon, and get to know each and every one of you, along with your reptilian overlords! <3
