Recently I got a 55 gal off criagslist for 25$ and I've decided that I'm going to use it for a bearded dragon (I originally was going to use it for an angelfish setup but I have too many aquariums already, and I was going to have to make a stand...)
I've always wanted a beardie and I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right and I have a proper setup before I actually get one. The guy gave me a tube light to go with it. The bulb needs to be replaced but it runs all along the top of the 48" of the aquarium. So I really just need to get a heatlamp, but I'm not sure what to look for in terms of those.
I also was disappointed when I learned that sand was pretty much a no go, but I came up with the idea of making the tank Portal 2 themed. I even made a little model in the Portal 2 lvl creator:
I plan on making the floors all black/grey tile while the walls linoleum(safe?) The burrowing space will probably be filled with alfalfa pellets and I think I'll make the elevated space on the other bigger half of the tank out of wood and then covering with the tiles. The ramp itself will probably be made out of glass. I just want some other input before I start buying supplies. Anything I should add or get rid of? Which heat lamp I should get... etc.
