hi!! i go by kirby, and i am finishing up my junior year of highschool in just a few weeks. i have no idea of the age range around this place, so maybe im a younger owner - but either way, i love it here! i've gotten so much advice and help so far that is extremely nice for a new owner like me.
ive never had a beardie before, but ive wanted one for years. i finally convinced my mom to let me get one a few days ago, which im so happy about!! without further ado, here is my new sweetheart quincy!! (full name, quincy comstock churchill)
(he was a lil stressed out in the second pic, thus he looks darker than the first)
he is doing fantastic so far and seems to be very healthy. his appetite is nearly insatiable, and he loves to explore! he went outside for the first time today, and he really had a good time wandering through the grass and climbing all over me. he even chased a few bugs, but i wouldnt let him eat them much to his disappointment.
naturally, i have a few questions. my first - is glass surfing a bad thing? ive seen others talking about i like its bad, but others say its fine. if its not good, how can i prevent it?
my second is if i am feeding him mostly phoenix worms, which i know are full of calcium, do i need to calcium dust his crickets as well? i already dust the crickets with reptivite vitamins and i feed the crickets total bites which i understand also gutloads them with calcium. how much calcium is too much calcium?
its a pleasure to meet everyone here and im glad to finally be a beardie mother :^)!
