Hello!!! new GUy!

Hi my name is Rob! i just got my very first bearded dragon named Larry love.
I've always wanted a beardie since i was a child and always mentioned i wanted one and one day my girlfriend surprised me and came home with larry.

larry is 2yrs old and about 16 in. long
He came in a 20gal. tank with a food dish,a ceramic heat emitter and a regular florescent light bulb both in fixture for $100. The tank seemed way too small for him so i moved him into a 40gal tank then shortly after i found a old 120gal tank with a stand at a yard sale for $50!! i just bought a timer for the lights today and ive become addicted to giving larry whatever he needs.

im in the process of buying a mercury vapor bulb and finding a place that will make a custom lid for the new tank

welcome to the forum :wave: it look like a good setup once you get the new bulb. i think larry very cute. thought you might want to change the sand to a different substrate. it has risk of impaction.i know some people dont have trouble with it so it up to you. if you do change. you could use tile,paper towels,repti-carpet. it up to you.

i used to have him on carpet but it was too much of a hassle when it came down to toilet duties.
he doesnt seem to have any interest in eating the play sand so i leave him on that and i just put in a large flat rock in there where i feed him on now just in case thanks for the advise

i do have some questions about lighting that really confuse me!!

i just really dont know if the lighting is ok for him so far?!?

the left side of the tank has the 100w flood light, two regular 20w flourescent bulbs and the reptisun 10.0 across it
while the right side has two 70w house bulbs and a ceramic heater

is this ok?!?
