Hello, new beardie hitting the blocks.

So, after a couple months of thinking about getting a beardie, this week was the magical week where everything fell into place and I got most of what I needed to make a good environment.

I decided to get my first baby bearded dragon from a pet store instead of a breeder.

I also have not attempted to find out if it's a boy or girl and am still deciding on a name, but here is a cute baby dragon pic for you all to love!

I love baby pics along w/ every1 else.. any ??'s you may come up w/ along the way don't be shy to post them and some1 will answer to help you out.. hope your baby grows up to have a healthy long life and you're able to develop a trusting bond w/ your new pet.. have fun w/ him/her!! :wink:

I certainly will ask if I have any questions. Luckily all the small questions I've had so far have been solved by a simple search of these forums. I've had to rearrange his viv a few times to get his basking spots right. He's taken to basking under just the uvb on his cool side tonight.

Sadly it seems that I got a defective animal from petsmart. After 2 weeks of trying to get him to eat with little success, this little guy has died on me .

At most he would only eat a couple crickets at a time for the first couple days and then he stopped and he struggled to continue eating. He did poop a few times so it wasn't an impaction. I really did everything I read to try to save him.

I will try to get a bearded dragon from an actual breeder this time around, hopefully with less heartbreaking results.

Losing a pet is never easy and I'm sorry.. I've lost a BD and it was the exact same as a dog to me.. if you ask around someone here will point you in the right direction of where to get one on-line w/ much better results.. I wouldn't throw any names out there myself as I don't have personal experience w/ any, but if you want to try again, someone here will help you out.. again, I'm sorry to hear about your pet..
