Greetings from Arizona!!
I am new out here and wanted to drop in and say hello. Not new to the herp world but I am new to beardies. I actually started and ran IguanaLand.com when it was active many years ago. Not sure if anyone used or remembered that site but I thought I would throw it out there in case they did. I kinda moved on quickly back then and left the site to another guy and have regretted it ever since. I had met a lot of great people who were really passionate about Iguanas and have since lost contact with all of them.
ANYWAY.... back to beardies. I had always been interested in them but I stayed so busy trying to learn all I could and take proper care of my iguanas, anoles, and salamanders back in the day that I never had the time. Now i am married and have 2 little girls so I thought with them being 6 and 9 now that it was certainly time to get back into herps and teach them about them too.
So we picked up Rango here off of Craigslist a couple of days ago. His previous owners could not keep him anymore so I thought it would be nice to adopt one. He's a citrus color and in real good shape with the exception of a couple of missing toes. His enclosure is not the best - the previous owner was running pellets for bedding and had a regular UVB bulb over the top of his cage. The reptisun 10.0 tubes should be in tomorrow and I am going to move him into a big 48x24x24 from CustomCages.com and the new substrate will be tile. Luckily Rango came with his own Dubia colony so we're off to a good start there!
Me and Rango will be spending a lot of time on here learning all we can to give him the best life possible. Right now he's going thru some relocation stress and doesn't want to eat much of anything. Really hoping to turn that around soon.
See you around!
Chris
