Hi there! I'm Brittany and I just got a new baby beardie about 3 1/2 weeks ago. This is our (me and hubby) very first reptile/beardie.
We had a rough couple of first 2 weeks as after a few days after we brought him home he stopped eating, and I was glued to the computer searching for answers, hoping that it was just the relocation stress. After a week he still wasn't eating so we took him to the vet for a check-up. Doc said he looked healthy and they did a fecal, and he said he had high counts of intestinal protozoa and gave me some medicine to give to him. I had also ordered some phoenix worms for him. 2 days after the vet visit he started eating again! So I don't know if that was due to the stress, the medicine worked, the phoenix worms looked appetizing, or all of the above. So he's been eating pretty good, I give him both dusted crickets and phoenix worms, and veggies of course, but he doesn't eat those yet. We love the little guy and we were soooo worried about him! This site has been so incredibly helpful, and I've enjoyed looking at pics of everyone's beardies. We want him to grow up to be big and fat and happy. :love5:
Anyway, without further ado, I present to you, Eugene Fitzherbert!
His 1st day home:
He sleeps in my hand with a blankie wrapped around him:
He always gives me this look whenever I give him a bath:
