Hi!

My name is merry and Shellie and I are new here. I found Shellie yesterday in the middle of a busy highway, I'm wanting to learn how to take care of her to the best of my ability as I have for all my pets.

Shellie is shockingly sweet, and very quick. I've got her in a very basic set up with calcisand, water, crickets ,carrots ,a hide log ,a climbing branch, heat lamp and a heated rock.

Any info is appreciated

That looks like a horned lizard to me rather than a bearded dragon. They are native to the US Southwest. I believe their diet is primarily ants. I don't know much about them so I can't say for sure how to care for one in captivity. If you're in the Southwest you may want to release her back to the wild so she can enjoy her native habitat.

I would have to agree on releasing. It's often illegal to keep native species. You wouldn't want to release after you have the lizard for a while if you are eventually forced to release him/her.

Put it back close to where you found it. It will be a lot better in it's natural environment rather than trying to acclimate to clumsy husbandry in captivity. Moving it off the road was rescuing it, keeping it is likely to do the opposite. Depending on your location and the subspecies you may well have committed a crime collecting it from the wild.

Calci-sand and hot rocks are a no-no, they also have a specialist diet. Without wanting to sound too harsh, asking for advice on horned lizards on a bearded dragon forum doesn't bode well for you ability to care for it.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
