Hey,
So, my beardie is currently in a vivarium exactly like this (perhaps a little longer)
http://www.reptilecentre.com/images/reptile/PT4079_Reptihome_Large_Tall_Beech-v1.jpg
But our ceramic heater hangs quite low in the corner, I'd say there's about 10 inches from the floor of the viv. When we have the right heat for the viv it causes the sand to become very hot.
Recently our beardie has been showing signs of digging to lay eggs and she seems to have taken a liking to under the heater however as soon as she goes under there she runs off it again indicating the intense heat.
Now we were wondering if we have the heater too low and whether we should try cutting a hole in our viv and hanging it over the top with mesh?
If this is the right thing to do, anyone have any advice on HOW? We're not very skilled craftsmen and we don't really want to ruin our viv - we're students and can't really afford a whole new setup!
Eventually we want to upgrade to a taller viv, but for now any advice would be great!
Cheers
