Heavy Sleeper

Hi,

I was just wondering if it is normal for a bearded dragon to fall asleep while i am bathing him? He just shuts his eyes and sleeps away, floating in the water (i am holding his head and chest off the water, so its only his arms and tummy/back end in the water). After I can lift him out and wrap him in a blanket and he sleeps for HOURS.

I can bath him for 15 minutes before he sleeps, he seems to only have good sleep when I do this, he doesnt like to sleep in his tank.

Cute, but is it a problem?

If it's around his bedtime.. I wouldn't be worried. My beardies are very heavy sleepers. I think he's just comfortable in the warm water and with you! My adult female Fonzie snuggles into my shoulder and falls asleep almost instantly at night.

My other beardies will fall asleep at 9PM on the dot lights on or lights off.

Zinger always falls asleep in his 'bafftub.' It's normal. Try wrapping him in a 'beardie burrito' before bedtime to calm him down. Snuggle him and let him fall asleep on you before putting him back into his enclosure. This should help him sleep in his tank better. :)

EDIT: typo fix

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
